"0 blogs have changed"

A very few of you received emails this morning saying that none of the blogs you read had changed, when, in fact, they had. We have identified the problem and expect to send corrected email to those affected within an hour.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

UPDATE: The emails have been sent.

Email Issues

If you received HTML Blogmail today (which, of course, only happens when one of the blogs you subscribe to has been updated), you probably noticed that it had some strange text and perhaps some alert messages. Ugh.

Yesterday our web host started applying mail filters to outgoing mail. A couple of the features we offer, particularly links to some popular blogs and the dropdown that lets you jump to a specific article, were disabled. This was our ISP being over-zealous, and we are working with them to get it resolved.

So, obviously, we deeply apologize to anyone affected by this, and we promise to get it resolved as soon as possible. We've already been working on it, and are confident that the problem will be resolved today. When it is, we'll update this entry.

Thank you for your patience,

The Blogarithm Team

UPDATE: Hosting Matters has changed their mail filters and our email to you will no longer be altered. Your email tomorrow will be back to normal. Sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

CAPTCHAs

You may have noticed that we've modified our registration procedure. Now, along with the Blog's URL and the subscriber's email address, we require that the text from the included picture be entered as well.
You've probably seen such pictures before - they're called CAPTCHA's. Their purpose is to ensure that the person entering the information is, in fact, a person, and not a computer. Why would a computer want to subscribe to a blog? Well, it wouldn't - but it might want to try using our service for other, less savory, purposes.
It's a shame that such efforts are necessary, and we apologize for the little extra inconvenience, but it helps to ensure that our service remains as open and useful as possible.

This and this (you'll have to scroll down a bit) are why we're here.

What else can we do for you? Please let us know!
