Eating our own dogfood

There's an old saying in the computer industry, made popular by Jim McCarthy in Dynamics of Software Development: "eat your own dogfood", meaning roughly: be your own customer. To that end, the first customization of this blog is the addition of a Blogarithm sticker just under the calendar and above the archives. And of course, I've subscribed myself to the updates -- otherwise, how would I know when Max or I have added something? :-)

Hosting Matters

We recently switched our hosting company to Hosting Matters. I don't think anyone noticed. (I hope not, anyway.) We had outgrown our previous ISP, and after checking out the recommendations from famous bloggers, we picked HM.

I must say we have been pleased with them. Our requirements are much different from the average blog -- more like those of the TTLB Ecosystem, which is also on HM. Customer service was uniformly helpful, even lending us a domain name for testing. We'll see how they scale as we do.

Now we blog

Three years after we launched Blogarithm, we are introducing a blog of our own. This site has been a hobby, and we have seen steady growth since our launch. Now it is time to put more energy into Blogarithm, so we are adding this blog to let you, our users, know when we launch new features and to get your feedback.
